Child Safeguarding: Level 3: the role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in country programs; or are visiting country programs; ore because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

The Role: The Regional Supply Chain Manager will assist the West and Central Africa Head of Supply Chain to improve the capacity and performance of Supply Chain department in SCI country offices within the region. The position holder will be responsible for providing technical support to Country offices in West and Central Africa Region with a specific focus on asset, fleet, inventory management and transformation initiative for all operational matters. He/She is the focal point in all specific supply chain projects implementation and roll out of procedures and process linked to HPO and Regional Office supply chain initiatives. He/She supports the RO head of Supply Chain by working on WCA aggregated data analytics. When required the regional supply chain manager ensures the interim of the RO head of supply chain or ensures representation of the regional function at workshops, meetings, conferences and events as agreed and under the mandate of the regional head of supply chain.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Essential

  • A Degree in Procurement, or Supply Chain; Master’s degree an advantage

  • Fluent in French and English is a must

  • At least five years logistics management level experience in logistics in the NGO sector, within complex/large scale country programmes and in emergency response/humanitarian environments.

  • Experience in Private sector is an advantage but only if completed by solid NGO experience.

  • Proven experience in managing all technical areas of Supply Chain Operations including procurement, transport/distribution, warehousing and stock management.

  • Strong experience in high volume procurement and contracting (1M+), including framework agreement.

  • Previous experience in Medical Supply Chain and Food Supply Chain

  • Strong planning, management and coordination skills, with the ability to organise a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities

  • Experience working with large institutional donors and knowledge of their rules and regulations

  • Ability to synthesize and analyse information, and make clear, informed decisions

  • Ability to build relationships quickly with a wide range of people, both internally and externally

  • Experience in developing the capacity of logistics staff through the use of training, performance management frameworks and development plans.

  • Excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills

  • Cross-cultural experience, understanding and sensitivity

  • Commitment to Save the Children values, holding high ethical standards and exemplary in respect of Code of Conducts

  • Knowledge of Western and Central Africa region is a must

  • Excellent IT Skills especially in Microsoft Office and Inventory Management Software

  • Willingness and ability to travel around the region sometimes with short notice. Having limited visa related problems will be considered an advantage.

  • Able to travel up to 50% of time

  • Ability to process big data, provide reports and analysis

  • Able to prioritize and work with limited supervision , self-motivated, resilient to stress

    Desirable

  • Experience in developing and carrying out staff training programmes

  • Previous experience working for Save the Children International or members

  • Experienced in running investigations and anti-fraud activities CONTRACT LENGTH: 1 Year
